So it snowed again this weekend. Covering up the paths the dogs made in the snow following the trails of the bunnies that took a shortcut across my lawn to go where ever it is that bunnies go in the winter time.

And not just a little snow either. A big mongo pile of a monstrosity. Now it wasn’t so bad for my neighbors because, for some reason, all the snow in the neighborhood drifts in my yard or in the yard of the guy down the block who doesn’t talk to anyone. I figure it’s gotta be (more…)

Wind rushing by snaking fingers through woolen caps as the rails of the radio flyer course along the top of the fresh snow blanketing the hillside as trees strain to throw themselves in front of the speeding sled whipping, tearing down the hillside. Breath comes faster, exhaled in crystal clouds torn away by the speed of the ride…

Yes, here comes the snow again. Covering up yesterday’s dingy piles with a fresh coat of whitewash. Tomorrow morning the sun will come up on a world once again fresh and new. Tomorrow we all have a chance to run out and find a fresh patch of snow to throw ourselves upon and leave our mark.

It doesn’t snow every day. And it’s not every day you have new opportunities to make your mark or blaze your own path. Sometimes the snow merely (more…)
